After more than twenty years, Garenei Nahal groups are returning – and this time with a renewed mission.
A collaboration between Hiburim B’Haklaut and the Bnei Akiva movement's fulfillment department established a program for post-12th grade youth, combining a year of agricultural-community mission in border-adjacent settlements, meaningful combat service as a fighting unit in the Nahal Brigade, and a returning settlement phase to strengthen settlements.
The groups are established along the borders, spaces at the national and social forefront that need working hands, young presence, and committed Zionist spirit. The program's goal is to return to roots and cultivate a new generation of values-based and mission-oriented fighter-pioneers, with a spirit of national responsibility, connecting defense, agriculture, and community, and returning to fulfill the Zionist story in the field.
The first Nahal group of Hiburim B’Haklaut is the first established since the start of the Iron Swords war.
This group was established from a commitment to address national missions and strategic plans of the Ministry of Defense and IDF. The group was established in the Bik'a (Jordan Valley) in partnership with the IDF, Bnei Akiva movement, and Bik'at HaYarden Regional Council.
