Agriculture is not just connection to roots, but also growth toward the future and an amazing educational tool.
At Hiburim B’Haklaut, we believe education is a meaningful component on the path to cultivating the next generation of Israeli agriculture. Education for social responsibility, land work values, mutual responsibility, and deep understanding of Israeli society in all its components.
Our programs focus on content of love of the land, Zionism, knowledge of Israeli agriculture, ecology, and environmental protection. Programs are adapted to educational institutions – high schools and preparatory programs, youth movements, and non-formal education frameworks.
Programs offer a combination of field work, values learning, and a process that creates belonging, meaning, and inspiration.
Agricultural work creates many connections for volunteers: connection to themselves in the screen-surrounded world we live in, connection to nature and land with direct contact and land work creating deep sense of belonging, connection to friends in joint fieldwork, standing in shared challenges and relationships woven during work, and of course connection to different parts of Israeli society – exposure to different places and different farmers enables acquaintance and connection of a wide variety of Israelis, through strong and genuine partnership.
