Agricultural-community mission groups project in the north for young women in their 20s.
The project was established following the Iron Swords war as a response to the need to rehabilitate agriculture in the North and community resilience, emphasizing fence-adjacent moshavim and kibbutzim. The nucleus groups operate from the Golan to the Galilee and are intended for young women after military/national service. The goal is to return working hands to the field, assist farmers in rehabilitating farms, and establish community renewal at the northern border.
Alongside agricultural work, mission groups offer participants social activity and allow a break from the city and routine, for national missions, renewed connection to the people, land, and themselves.
Currently, "Tzafona" mission groups operate at 4 locations, in fence-adjacent settlements from the Golan to the Western Galilee.
The first mission group was established in Kiryat Shmona, in memory of Sergeant Shay Ashram, who fell heroically in the battle at Nahal Oz outpost.
